PROJECT GOAL
The project involved developing a family of solid-fuel boilers for multiple fuel types, straightforward servicing, and compatibility with the client's existing manufacturing capabilities.
01 | Concept Development
_____
Development of the boiler layout, combustion chamber, heat-exchange path, and service access with a focus on practical operation and maintenance.
02 | Thermal Calculation
_____
Heat-transfer analysis from flue gases to the boiler water.
03 | Strength Verification
_____
Strength verification of the heat exchanger under maximum operating water pressure.
04 | 3D CAD, Drawings & Specifications
_____
Creation of a parametric 3D assembly with manufacturing drawings and specifications, easily scalable for different boiler models.
05 | Prototype Testing
_____
200 kW and 400 kW models manufactured and tested.
ENGINEERING APPROACH
The design was based on the manufacturer’s existing production capabilities, including equipment for large rolled sheet-metal parts. A parametric 3D model was created to simplify design changes, optimize the balance between heat-transfer area and water volume, and scale the concept for different boiler outputs.
PROJECT OUTCOME
The first 200 kW and 400 kW boilers were developed, manufactured, and tested. The design was created as a scalable platform for a planned product line ranging from 100 to 1000 kW.
